Terms of Service
Effective: 1 May 2026
These terms govern use of the Pave platform by schools, teachers, students, and parents. By accessing the platform, you agree to these terms.
1. Who can use Pave
Pave is licensed to schools — typically KHDA-regulated private schools in the UAE. Individual student, teacher, and parent access is granted by the licensing school. Direct individual sign-ups are not currently supported.
2. The school's responsibilities
The school is responsible for obtaining all consents and permissions required for its use of Pave, maintaining appropriate safeguarding arrangements, supervising student use, and ensuring that its staff and users use the platform in accordance with these Terms. In particular, the school will:
- Obtain any required parental or guardian consents before enrolling students
- Designate a Safeguarding Lead
- Ensure teachers complete certification before delivering sessions
- Vet any external participants (informational interview hosts, shadow-day hosts)
- Maintain age-appropriate supervision of student platform use
- Act on Pave's safety and incident-reporting protocols
3. The student's portfolio
The student owns their portfolio. For school deployments, the school generally acts as Data Controller and Pave as Data Processor. The student chooses what is shared with whom, subject to safeguarding requirements, applicable law, and other circumstances where disclosure is legally required or necessary to protect a student. Students retain the right to export, edit, or delete their own data subject to the school's retention obligations.
4. Acceptable use
Users agree not to:
- Share login credentials with others
- Post content that is harmful, discriminatory, or illegal
- Attempt to access another student's portfolio or private data
- Use the platform for any commercial purpose other than the licensed educational use
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract platform data outside its intended use
Users are responsible for the content they submit to the platform. Pave is not responsible for inaccurate, inappropriate or unlawful information submitted by users, except to the extent Pave is required to act under applicable law.
5. AI usage
The platform's AI is bound by product constraints documented in our Privacy Policy and Handbook. AI is not currently used to write students' essays, to generate career recommendations independently of a student's own input, or to persist private content. Misuse of AI-generated outputs (e.g., presenting them as one's own original work in contexts where it's prohibited) is the user's responsibility.
AI-generated outputs may contain errors or incomplete information and should be reviewed by an appropriate teacher, counsellor or other responsible adult before being relied upon. Pave is not responsible for decisions made solely in reliance on AI-generated content.
6. Subscription and payment
Pave is licensed annually per school. Terms are agreed with each school directly — write to rahul@pavetheway.ai. The licence covers all students, teachers and parents at the school for the academic year. Renewals are annual.
7. Data ownership
Students own their personal portfolio data. Schools own aggregate, school-level data. Pave owns the platform itself, the curriculum (subject to research framework attributions), and the AI orchestration layer.
Following termination, the school may request an export of its data within 90 days. After that period, Pave may delete or anonymise data in accordance with its Privacy Policy, any applicable Data Processing Agreement and applicable law.
8. Intellectual property
The Pave curriculum, software, and brand are the property of Pave LLC, licensed in Sharjah Media City (Shams), Sharjah, UAE. Schools and educators may use the curriculum within their school under licence; redistribution outside the licensed school is not permitted.
No ownership rights in the platform, software, curriculum, methodologies, content, designs or underlying technology are transferred to the school or any user. Except as expressly permitted, copying, modifying, distributing, sublicensing, reverse-engineering or commercially exploiting Pave materials is prohibited.
Research frameworks referenced in the curriculum (Holland's RIASEC, Super's Life-Span Theory, Gottfredson's Circumscription, VIA Character Strengths, the 16 Career Clusters Framework, Gatsby Benchmarks, ASCA standards) remain the property of their respective owners and are used here under fair-use, educational-use, or open licence terms as applicable.
9. Service availability
Pave uses commercially reasonable efforts to maintain platform availability. Pave does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Availability may be affected by maintenance, third-party providers, internet or infrastructure failures, security incidents, or circumstances outside Pave's reasonable control. Planned maintenance is scheduled during school holidays where possible.
Pave may use third-party hosting, infrastructure, communications and AI service providers in delivering the platform. Pave is not responsible for outages or failures caused by third-party services outside Pave's reasonable control, subject always to Pave's obligations under applicable law.
Except as expressly stated in a written agreement with the school, the platform is provided on an “as available” basis and Pave disclaims warranties to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, including implied warranties of fitness for a particular purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
The platform is provided as an educational support tool. Pave does not guarantee any particular career, university admission, academic, employment or other outcome. AI-generated and platform-generated content should not be treated as professional, legal, medical or other specialist advice.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Pave's total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the platform, these Terms or the school's use of the services shall not exceed the fees paid by the relevant school to Pave during the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pave shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, including loss of profits, revenue, opportunity, anticipated savings or goodwill.
11. Suspension
Pave may suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the security or integrity of the platform, protect students or other users, investigate suspected misuse, comply with law, or address a material breach of these Terms. Where reasonably practicable, Pave will notify the school.
12. Force majeure
Neither party will be liable for delay or failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, government action, internet or telecommunications failures, widespread cloud-service outages, war or other events beyond that party's reasonable control.
13. Order of precedence
Where a school has entered into a separate written agreement, proposal or order form with Pave, that document will prevail over these Terms to the extent of any conflict.
14. Changes to these terms
If we materially change these terms, we will notify schools at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and the courts of Dubai. Disputes will be resolved through good-faith negotiation, then through the appropriate UAE forum if necessary.
