Why now

Career counselling at most schools starts in Grade 11. By then, the decisions have already been made.

By age 14, students have already eliminated most career options — based on stereotype, not self-knowledge (Gottfredson, 1981). The Grade 11 conversation comes years too late.

Schools that introduce structured career exploration starting in middle school produce graduates with measurably better adult employment outcomes a decade later, controlling for socio-economic background (OECD, 2017–2020).

The UAE and KHDA are uniquely positioned to lead on this. KHDA's Inspection Framework already values personal development, innovation skills, and Emirati identity — the exact territory good career education covers.

Vision 2031 makes the case: tomorrow's UAE workforce will require students who know themselves, understand the regional economy, and can navigate decisions with intent.

Decisions on no data

A 17-year-old picks a major from a self-portrait they wrote yesterday. The college counselor meets them three weeks before the deadline.

⏱️

Counselors as fire-fighters

The most experienced person in the room spends their week on Common App admin instead of conversations that change lives.

🎓

No through-line

The work the student did at 13 — the interests, strengths, hopes — never makes it to the application essay. Lost data.

What's included

Everything your school needs to deliver, and prove the impact.

A platform, a curriculum, teacher development, parent engagement materials, and KHDA-ready inspection artefacts. Nothing à la carte. Everything works together.

🎓

Teacher certification

Three-tier certification — primary, middle, secondary. Self-paced modules + observed deliveries + community of practice. Recertification annually. KHDA-recognised CPD.

~10 hrs Tier 1 · ~20 hrs Tier 2 · ~40 hrs Tier 3

Implementation

Modular adoption. Start small, scale up.

Adoption starts with the pilot above: one band, one term. Most schools then extend to Grades 6–10 as the highest-value core, with KG–5 and 11–12 layering in from Year 2.

Year 1 · Term 1

Onboarding & teacher development

  • • Tier 1–2 certification for ~12 teachers
  • • Platform configuration for your school
  • • Parent communication kit launched
  • • Pilot bands selected (typically G6–8)
Year 1 · Terms 2–3

First-cohort delivery

  • • Pilot bands begin sessions
  • • Monthly check-ins with Pave success team
  • • Quarterly community of practice for teachers
  • • First showcase event for parents
Year 2

Full school rollout

  • • Add remaining bands (typically G1–5, G11–12)
  • • Tier 3 certification for senior counselors
  • • Outcomes reporting begins
  • • KHDA inspection-ready by year-end
Starting

One phase. One term. Named teachers.

Nobody rolls out thirteen year groups at once, and a programme that starts everywhere in September is being delivered nowhere by November. A pilot's job is to produce proof, not coverage.

What the school provides

  • One phase, chosen by the school
  • Two to four teachers who have agreed, by name
  • A fortnightly slot the Head of Phase protects
  • One 45-minute briefing before the first session

What comes out of it

  • Sessions delivered against a named year group, evidenced
  • Student reflections in their own words
  • Access arrangements planned and confirmed per session
  • A FutuReady evidence pack for that phase, with the gaps named

What it will not produce

Anything needing a whole-cohort denominator — counselor ratios, destinations, participation equity — because a pilot in one phase does not have one. And nothing for the standards that rest on school documents nobody has written yet. Those are named rather than quietly left out.

Pilot terms are agreed per school. rahul@pavetheway.ai or WhatsApp +971 56 892 4365.

FAQ

Common questions from school leaders.

How is this different from a careers fair or one-off speaker programme? ▾

Research is unambiguous (Hooley & Dodd 2015, OECD 2020): one-off events don't move outcomes. Sustained, varied engagement does. Pave is sustained — every grade, every term — with multiple types of engagement (inventories, reflections, guest speakers, shadow days, side projects, informational interviews). Career fairs complement this; they don't replace it.

Who delivers the sessions? Do we need a dedicated career counselor for every grade? ▾

No. The AI co-pilot is designed so that any class teacher (PSHE coordinator, homeroom, even subject teachers) can deliver after Tier 1 or 2 certification. Career-specialist time is reserved for the dedicated counselor in Grades 9–12 where it's most needed. A typical school of 1,200 students needs ~20 teachers certified across the bands and ~1 dedicated counselor for the senior years.

Does it support Arabic and other languages? ▾

Yes — Arabic is treated as primary alongside English, with cultural review per content piece. Parent communications also available in Hindi, Urdu, Filipino, and French at standard. Other languages on request. The student-facing experience supports locale switching at the individual student level.

Where does the data live? Is it UAE PDPL compliant? ▾

Each school runs its own isolated instance — no school's data shares a database with another's. For UAE schools, data is hosted in the UAE, and your agreement names the exact infrastructure and region rather than gesturing at a cloud. The school remains the data controller under its own enrolment consent, and the school can export everything it holds at any time.

Pave maintains technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the data it processes — server-enforced access control covered by automated tests, hashed access codes, full export at any time. Detailed security documentation is provided as part of a school's due-diligence review.

If any of the second list is a precondition for your school, raise it at the pilot conversation. It would have to be built, and that is a fair thing to ask for. The privacy page carries the same list.

What does the AI actually do? What does it not do? ▾

The AI summarises inputs students provide (their inventory answers, reflections, etc.), asks Socratic questions to deepen reflection, and generates pre-session briefs for teachers. It does not write personal statements, generate career suggestions independently of student input, or persist anything a student has marked private. During essay drafting, the AI's writing tools are explicitly disabled — only word count and Socratic prompts. Every AI output cites the specific portfolio inputs that drove it.

What happens at KHDA inspection? ▾

The school admin dashboard generates a full inspection report on demand — curriculum-to-framework mapping, anonymised sample student journeys (with consent), aggregate engagement and completion data, teacher certification status, parent communication archive. KHDA inspectors can be granted read-only access to a tailored view. See a sample report.

Can we adopt only certain grade bands? ▾

Yes. Most schools start with Grades 6–8 or 6–10 (the highest-value middle and direction bands), then add primary (KG–5) and senior (11–12) in Year 2. The platform's data model handles partial portfolios gracefully — students who join Pave in Grade 7 or later have correspondingly fewer artefacts but the curriculum still works.

How do we measure outcomes? ▾

Mid-year and annual reports track: career hypothesis confidence, cross-cluster skill self-rating, stereotype-narrowing index (compared to baseline cohorts), university application readiness scores, parent engagement, teacher satisfaction. Long-term outcomes (university acceptance, graduate employment) tracked for participating schools through alumni surveys.
